Children's Art: From 3D to 2D

Yesterday we had our first children's painting group meeting this year. We started with a little experimental project...

I prepared some aluminium wire fixed in a loop on a wood block.

The children were asked to deform their wire in any way they like it.

Next step was to take a black or blue pen and a piece of white paper and draw the sculpture just build. The only condition was, that they have to draw in one line without break.
We figured out it would be easiest done not looking on the paper but keeping the eyes to the wire sculpture the whole time and follow the lines with the eyes.

Everyone was very eager to draw. They took the same sculpture and drew it from different angles and they shared the sculptures among each other :-)
